Mildred ‘Mickey’ Horrom, 82 years old of Trevor, WI formerly of Waukegan, IL passed away on Sunday January 7, 2007 at St Catherine’s Medical Center, Pleasant Prairie, WI. She was born March 26, 1924 in Superior, WI the daughter of the late Joseph and Martha (Stecker) Michaels. Mickey lived in Waukegan for over 40 years before moving to Trevor in 1995. While living in Waukegan she was a member of St. Dismas Church where she was an active member helping at the annual bazaar in the Yesterday’s Treasure booth and also served as secretary for the Woman’s Auxiliary. She was also a member of the Elk’s Auxiliary #702 of Waukegan. Her special interests included gardening, ceramics, crossword puzzles, reading, collecting teddy bears, shopping and spending time with her grandchildren and great-grandchildren. From 1945 until 1953 she worked at Abbott Labs in the library where she met Bruce Horrom and they were married on October 30, 1948 in Meadowlands, MN. Survivors include her husband of 58 years Bruce, her four children John(Janice) and Bob(Sue) both of Salem, WI, Cheryl(Peter) Livas of Burlington, WI, and Preston(Tammy) of Pleasant Prairie, WI; her brother Walter(Alice) Michaels of Winthrop Harbor and her sister Jo-Ann(Frank) Sramek of Hermantown, MN; her seven grandchildren Dawn(Greg), Lisa(Kevin), Natalie, Stephanie, Gregory, Paige, and Liam; and her great-grandchildren Christina, Bradley, Andrew, Britney, Jonathan, and Paul. Mickey was also preceded in death by her two brothers Jack and Bob. Funeral services with Mass of Christian Burial will be held at 10AM on Wednesday January 10, 2007 at St Scholastica Church Bristol, WI. Interment will follow in the parish cemetery.
