Alice C. Bauman; 88 years old, lifelong resident of Millburn, IL, passed away Friday September 13, 2013 at Arden Courts, Glen Ellyn, IL. She was born December 19, 1924 in Waukegan, IL the daughter of the late Jesse and Margaret (White) Denman. Alice grew up on the dairy farm and loved being on the farm for 60 years. Before her retirement, Alice had worked over 25 years as the Office Manager at Advertiser, Antioch, IL. Alice was a lifetime member of Millburn Congregational Church, a deaconess at the church, and enjoyed: gardening, cooking, baking, and watching the Chicago Cubs. On October 1, 1949 she married Milton Bauman in Millburn, IL and he preceded her in death on July 7, 1992.
Survivors include: two daughters: Karen Haven of Glen Ellyn, IL and Jo (Robin) Rae of Ft. Myers, FL; four grandchildren: Nick (Sarah) Rae, Cammy Rae, Tom Neckopulos, Todd Neckopulos; and many nieces, nephews, and friends. In addition to her parents and husband, Alice was preceded in death by her son-in-law, Dalroy Haven, her siblings: Kenneth Denman, Robert Denman, Margaret DeYoung, and Grace Kane, and her special friend George DeYoung.
Graveside services will be held 12 Noon Tuesday September 17, 2013 at Millburn Cemetery, Old Mill Creek, IL. In lieu of flowers, donations to the Millburn Congregational Church are appreciated in Alice’s memory. Arrangements are entrusted to the STRANG FUNERAL HOME OF ANTIOCH.
