JOHN A. “JAY” DOMKOWSKI, 76 years old of Racine, WI passed away Monday October 15, 2007 at Froedtert Memorial Lutheran Hospital, Wauwatosa, WI. He was born January 9, 1931 in Oglesby, IL the son of the late John A. and Antoinette Nee Kiesnicki Domkowski. Jay served in the U. S. Marine Corps during the Korean War and was a gunner’s mate. On June 20, 1953 he married Elsie L. Kuhfuss in Chicago. He lived in Chicago for several years, Delavan, WI, to Antioch, IL for 31 years before moving to Racine. Jay was a machinist and had owned and operated JADPRO Tool and Manufacturing in Grayslake, IL for 22 years. Before his retirement in 1996 he had worked as an Engineering Tech for Abbott Lab. He loved fishing and the outdoors and had a home in Minong, WI where he spent time for many wonderful years. Jay also loved to be a practical joker and loved Polka Music, word searches, building grandfather clocks and he could fix anything. He also had a special love for his family especially his grandchildren. Survivors include his wife of 54 years Elsie, his children, John A. (Vicky) of Kenosha, WI, James A. (Ditas) of Las Vegas, NV and Jacalyn (Richard) Williams of Racine, WI, his grandchildren John, Jennifer, Jessica, Jade, Ashley and Chris, his great grandson Hunter, and his sisters Kathryn Compell, Clara Parat and Ceil Dopkus. In addition to his parents he was preceded in death by five brothers and two sisters.

Funeral Services with Mass of Christian Burial will be held at 11:00 AM Monday October 22, 2007 at St. Mary Church, Minong, WI with Visitation to begin at 10:00 AM. Interment will follow in Greenwood Cemetery, Minong. A visitation will be held at the STRANG FUNERAL HOME OF ANTIOCH, 1055 Main Street, (Rte 83) Antioch, IL from 4 until 8PM Thursday Oct. 18, 2007, with a prayer service at 7:00 PM.
